Forever I’ll be thankful – Poem

Thanks to a great friend who helped me out of a dry place.

Forever I’ll be thankful

Water on a dry land
Helping me to understand
Who I was and who I am
Making me a better man 

Tenderness we’ve shared
Passion, pleasure and pain
Although this time comes to an end
No regret or shame 

For you are an angel
A warming fire
Thawed parts of my heart
You lifted me  higher

You’ve helped me again
To see and breathe
The sounds and colors
The life within me

With pausing thought
And silence for a time
I hope your reflection
Is as sweet as mine

Forever I’ll be thankful
For this time that we’ve shared
And know that your future
Will bring joy and loving care
