Remember to breathe – Acrostic and Poem

Remember to breathe

Remember to breathe (in)
Through the nose
It’s what you need to do
When life is calling for you
To go through something new

Remember to breathe (out)
Slowly, through the mouth
When it’s all you can do
That’s how it’s taught
To calm and soothe

Remember to breathe (in)
When there’s a moment of surprise
And you catch your breath
When there’s tears in your eyes
‘Cause of what was said
When you can’t go on
Or so it seems
When what life brought you stings

Remember to breathe (out)
When you’re angry, sad
When your heart’s ripped out
Over loss of a friend
When the world has taken
What you cherish most
Or ground into dirt
Your dreams and hopes

Remember to breathe (in)
It can help you to calm

Remember to breathe (out)
Help the hurt move on

Remember to breathe…
