Bird song wake up – Poem

Bird song wake up!

What’s that little sound
Creeping through my veins
Could it be the sound of bird song
Outside my windowpane?

Open up that window
Let the sound come in
Never mind the cold
The song is worth the temp

Lighten up my insides
Let the smiles begin
As you serenade me sweetly
I close my eyes and grin

Little birdies singing
Morning’s on it way
Before the sunshine’s smile
You’ve brightened up my day

Greetings to the morning
Dew still on the ground
You spin your welcomed wakeup
With your beautiful singing sound

Grabbing a cup of coffee
As I listen to your tune
You blend together beautifully
A concert for my living room

Sitting next to the window
Your music continues to play
Thank God I’m alive
This beautiful spring day

Beautiful, Stephen. I listen for those first sounds every spring to break the silence of winter. I think it is the strongest message of springtime being a wake-up call.

  2. Leslie,
Thanks so much. It was wonderful this morning. I woke up at 6 and decided to get up and stay up. Kids were still sleeping so it was just me and the birds and I was compelled to write about it.

Thanks for stopping by and commenting
