Oh Great Spirit – Song

This is a song I wrote back in 2008 when going through some tough times…sometimes when I’m down or having a hard time, it floats back up to the surface. I hope you enjoy…

Oh Great Spirit!

Oh Great Spirit
Send your river deep
Wash over my hurting soul
As I sit here and weep

I am tired and I need your healing touch
To sooth my aching heart
Oh Great Spirit
Wash over me in love

For in my hurt and weakened state
As I sit here in pain
Tears are falling one by one
And love seems so in vain

I’m calling

Oh Great Spirit
Send your river deep
Wash over my hurting soul
As I sit here and weep

Life’s become a tangled mess
Of love and hurt and then
There’s love lost, or is it
Or can it be again

So as I get up to my knees
And try this life again
I slowly rise up higher now
And feel your river within

Oh Great Spirit
You sent your river deep
It’s been there all along
It’s there for me to keep

I’ll learn to feel it all the time
And listen to its flow
It’s there that true love abides
And there that I will know
