Hot summer night – Poem

Hot summer night

Mercury rising
Darkened circles form peaks
Inner touches outer
Mountains rise and fall
Anticipation builds
Tiny rivulets drip, drop
Ground wrinkles
Pressure grows
Bodies heave and move
Underground trimmers
Volcano head explodes
Hot summer night

Oh yes, you have that horrid and oppressive feel of heat totally captured within your poem, Stephen. It has cooled down for a few days, here, and I am enjoying it! Coice of words this poem? Perfect!

    • Leslie,
Thanks again for leaving feedback. I was going for two very different meaning with the word choices for “Hot” summer night. I hope both meanings came across…
      Thanks again!

      Peace,

      Stephen
