Morning rise – Poem

Morning rise

A breeze works its way on to the scene
Gently pushing back the cloudy curtains
Letting the sun settle in on the hills
That rise with it, hot or cold, who’s to know

The sweat of the landscape
Adds a chill to the breeze
Causing hairs to stand on end

I work my way down the hills
Leaving my own trail of “footprints”
In the landscapes dew

Settling into the valley
River banks swelling
As moisture starts to flow

And I plunge head first
Into the river of dreams
