Truck, Safe, Crust – Poem based on a prompt

Another writing prompt, this one from A Prayer Like Gravity  These are popping up so fast that I had to resort to doing a poem made up of haikus… and possibly a bending of the prompt corners a bit…

The prompt:
“The Words:

Truck
Safe (the object)
Crust

The Theme:

Something Sensuous or Romantic (…let’s just roll with it…)”

Truck, Safe, Crust

Hearts beating faster
Sweat beading, breath growing short
Ebb and flow, ebb, flow

She pulled, truck breaking
Through roadblock, explosions felt
Seeds trapped in their safe

Rolling off he sighed
Tossed the condemn off to waste
Discarded to crust
