Guess I’m in a response poem mode. Here’s another response poem to a powerful one by Whimsy Mimsy here.

Hostage held (response poem)

You hold me up
My face caressed by the sun
Even as waves crash round
Your treading, my solid ground

Who is hostage
Who is held
Time will tell
As I lay motionless over the next swell

I know
