Pops smile – Poem – NaPoWriMo2013

Pops smile

It’s been less than two weeks
And it’s still hard to grasp
That the last hug I gave you
Is really the last

I won’t see your hair
Combed over just so
Or kiss your cheek
With stubbly growth

Sit by your side
Discussing the days trials
Or hear you start snoring
As you drift off a while

I’ll miss your heart warming smile
But relive it again
Viewed in smiles passed on
From Father, to son, to grandchild
