Long slow drag – Poem – NaPoWriMo2013

Wow have I got some ground to cover  for NaPoWriMo2013… but not likely tonight. I’ll get there though, don’t you worry 😀

Long slow drag

Long slow drag
Ash kicks to life
Bright orange flare
Smoky fingers reach in
To tickle your lungs

You’re young
Who cares
Until in old age
The tickle marks
Turn to scars

Smokes hand
Begins to squeeze
Slowly at first
Taking running
To jogging
To walking

To wheezing
As you stand
To make your way
To the bathroom

The grip tightens
You cough
And gasp
For
Oxygen
Forced
Air

But you’re there
Being cool
As another
Long slow drag
Ass kick’s your life
