Fire Pit Flames – or as the kids call it – Faeire Fire – Photos and Haikus

These photos, like most on this site, were taken with one of my cell phones. They are from a few weeks back as we sat around the fire pit in my back yard. We had a blast talking, singing, making smores, poking the fire and gazing at the awesome colors the coals and flames produced.

Fire Pit Flames / Faeire Fire

Gazing at the coals
Dark orange, reds and blues shine bright
Pushing back the night

Our friends come to play
Swaying to the songs we sing
Fire dance begins

Dance round fire pit
Where faerie footprints dare tread
Making magic lights

Peace,
Stephen

I know exactly what this feels like as my son has a fire pit we gather around. Great poem to describe the event!

  2. Leslie,
thanks for the feedback on the poem. This firepit is actually a big hole in the ground, put their prior to our moving in, so it’s an old timey firepit and a lot of fun. I was able to collect some hardwood from a neighbor that had cut it up for the city to take away. Perfect lengths for the firepit so I look forward to another one of these soon… maybe even this weekend!

    Peace,

    Stephen
