This Haiku is actually based on last night where I woke up sitting in front of the computer and then crawled into bed.
Weary and the glowing eye
Head drops chin to chest
I wake to a glowing eye
PC mocking me
Silently it stares
Will I wake and write some more
It bids me goodnight
Tonight I choose rest
Eyes droop heavy like drawn shades
Lead filled body, bed

“Silently it stares”, I like that. I never think of my computer staring at me but could get into that mindframe late at night and exhausted, especially if there are no other lights on in the room. It’s also like a doorway, I think, beckoning, forever beckoning. Good one, Steve.
Leslie,
Thanks… this one actually happens to me on occasion as I stay up until1 or 2 in the morning too often… especially when I have to get up around 630.
I do sometimes feel like it’s an open mouth.. .waiting.. always pulling me to feed it more 🙂
Thanks again!
Peace,
Stephen
